Being a local business based out of the Coldstream/Vernon area of BC and servicing the entire North Okanagan, Blue Rhino Fence is very grateful for the support we receive from our community through our clients and other businesses.
And, because of your amazing support, we believe it is essential that we support local too.

Blue Rhino Fence makes a point of buying our fencing materials locally to keep money in the local economy, as well as assisting in the employment of our own families, friends, neighbors and our entire community through buying through them. We can’t stress enough how important it is to contribute in our own public infrastructure by investing in our community both socially and economically.
 

Hiring local employees and youth is also very important to us! Teaching our upcoming youth skills in business, leadership and discipline outside of the school system leads to a stronger community as a whole and shows young kids and adults that they are capable of so much more than school work. We hire local youths during the summer and begin teaching them how to build fences and build community and connection with our customers and other community members in Vernon and the surrounding areas.

 

Blue Rhino Fence also uses local subcontractors, such as welding contractors, powder coating contractors, etc.

We also believe that supporting a local small business helps reduce the carbon footprint. When we make local purchases, it requires less transportation, which means less pollution and congestion. Additionally, since most local small businesses are set up in or near a town or city, it generally reduces traffic, habitat loss and resource depletion.

Here at Blue Rhino Fence, we also take pride in providing much better customer service than large "big box companies" that don't have the time or the expertise to personalize any of their interactions with customers. Plus, local business owners value each of their customers, as our very livelihood hangs on our customer's satisfaction with our work! Unlike big chains, local businesses often hire people with proficient knowledge of the products and services we are selling and the ins and outs of the business we are running. Our employees take the time to really get to know our clients and customers, making for much more satisfying overall experience.
